We will not be divided! Build bridges, not walls.

Everyone out there! It is time for you to make a difference; in light of all that is happening over the world, we must all stand together. Trump and his cabinet cannot be accepted, their policies are unjust, unconstitutional and inhuman.

You may be wondering what can I do? Trump has become one of the most powerful men in the world, but there is something you can do! Talk, make a fuss, use your voice! We cannot sit back and allow what is happening to continue, we cannot stop and let these new policies become the norm – we, all of us together, have the potential to stop humanity moving backward. We have worked far too hard to get to where we are today and we cannot turn back now.

It is unacceptable for racism to be okay; need I remind you America was built on immigrants.

You would all agree that the KKK do not represent Christians

The same goes for ISIS, they do not represent Muslims

Trump will not use fear to manipulate us or divide us. We will stand together.

We can do it, together. Stand up & take off.

Autumn

Being my favorite time of year, autumn always manages to make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Perhaphs it’s the cosy blankets and hot tea? Or maybe it’s due to it becoming pitch black outside by 5pm? Whatever it is, I always feel parituclarly snug during autumn.

I do find it hard to pick a favorite month, even autumn can get a little annoying with all the rain…yet it still manages to take first place. But, having said that I feel like it is only my favorite month because I get to experience it only once a year (duh!), if we didn’t get an opportunity to miss our favorite things then we wouuldn’t appreciate them half as much.

I guess a lot of people may think Autumn is not such a pretty month, what with leaves falling off and flowers dying? But for me it represents something entirely different, a moment of cleansing and peace for nature. It will all be back again in Spring, but for now it is a bit of down time – no need to impress. Instead a chance to be bare and organic and let the rain wash away all your bothers.

Peace at Lake Shkodra

 

Where does one go to feel at ease and to relax? Well of course the answer is different for everybody.

Lake Shkodra/Skodra is a stunning, soothful beauty in the North of Albania. It’s the largest lake in the Balkans, yet it still manages to be tranquil and offer nothing but an opportunity to sit and reflect.

How do you discover a peaceful place? What kind of characteristics does it have? It’s all up to you – anything that gives you that ‘good feeling’, anything which allows you to stop an absorb your surrondings, anything which makes you want to return – that’s a peaceful place. Nature, for me, is a massive source of peace as it allows you to escape everyday life and focus on the intricate details of the world and its natural beauty.

Make America hate again?

It has been the hot topic for the last few weeks now, Donald Trump is the new president of the USA. The world reamins in utter disbelief, which makes us wonder: Who were the people that voted for Trump? Of course, it’s pretty much half of America, but the amount of confusion and horror is puzzling. Perhaps, it is because no one truly expected Donald Trump to win? And for good reason, his campaign has been a joke. But what are the real reasons to be worried.

“If the president thinks it’s okay, then I can sure think it too”

Trump has particular values, values which America as a nation have been attempting to transcend for years. America was becoming greater (or at least greater than other times), but now it will surely be reversing its success in equality and peace. Trump demonstartes exactly what the world has been trying to fight against:

• Misogony
• Racism
• Islamaphobia
• Prejudice

If the Presidents of the United States of America, one of the greatest and most influential countries in the world, is demonstrating these sickening qualities, we can only imagine what’s coming next. Now, there exists an excuse for corrupted and manipulated indviduals to go out into the world and amplify the terrors which already exist.

There have been various reports of Islamphobia, as well as reports on hate crimes towards other minorities since Trump was elected. Why? Because now it’s absolutely fine apparently. In a recent interview, Trump looked directly into the camera and asked his supporters to stop the hate and intimidation. I cannot help but think it appears rather amusing that he cannot understand he was the one to launch these new horrors into America and the world.

All we can do now is hope everything calms down and people regain their sense and morals. Or perhaps we can leave our Trump worries to be dealt with by the ambitious Biden?…

ipsa scientia potestas est – Knowledge itself is power

There is a sense of content one does acquire upon learning something new. We are often told from a young age to sit still and listen in class, but, why should we? We would much rather run over to the building blocks and create a fantastic castle…of course, that wouldn’t get us very far in life, no? Yes! It very well could, and for a very crucial reason – our minds are free from limitations and are exposed to the possibilty of anything.

Unlike our education system. The system which limits minds and relies on memory work to deem someone intelligent. ‘Genius’ is not often taught, rather it is inherent

We are made to learn facts and memorise things out of textooks in order to pass exams. We then move up a level and suddenly there’s more memorisation. Not often, are we made to learn for fun or seek knowledge out of interest or passion, rather we are taught what is necessary.Who is to blame for this? This act which limits the minds of millions. This way of life, which creates a barrier to accessing the true beauty and capability of oneself. This accepted idea which restrains anyone of us from fully succeeding. Who is to blame? There is, without a doubt, the educational system, but what little can we do about that? Then comes another person – someone else, who should truly take responsibility and accept the task at hand: knowledge is there to be obtained and achieved.

You. You are the only one who make that change. There is so much to learn about in the world; everyday is a new opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the world around us, to learn something new. Knowledge is the most powerful weapon, a weapon which only the most courageous can attain.

After all, ipsa scientia potestas est.
